I’m sure by now all of you have heard about Miley Cyrus’ latest “scandal”. She recently posed for Vanity Fair and her pictures are causing quite a scene. In one controversial photo of Miley, she appears to be topless and is covered in a sheet. The photographer told her it was a beautiful picture and it was meant to be art. This young star is looked up to by many children and yes, she did make a bad choice in judgment. Many parents complained saying they didn’t want their five year old looking up to this teen star anymore. New casts all over county covered this story on the teen star’s controversial pictures. They blew the story way out of proportion. Vanity Fair is appealing to a much, much, much older audience than five year olds. If it wasn’t for the morning news, evening news, and talk shows covering this story many children would have no idea this even happened. There is no doubt that young Miley Cyrus made a mistake and a bad choice in judgment. Everyone makes mistakes and it is unfortunate that it has been blown out of proportion and put on headline news. The young star made a bad choice in judgment and the important thing is she realized what she did was wrong and apologized. That takes courage.
I feel there are more important stories that need to be covered on the news. We have military still in the Middle East and with the election coming up Miley Cyrus should not be the center of the news. We have more important things to worry about than a mistake from a teen pop star.

Sarah, I finally found your blog. It's great! My daughter was a big Miley fan until the news of the photo shoot came out. Now she wants nothing to do with her.
The trouble with young stars like Miley is that they have to keep advancing their career. Miley is about to age out of the kid market and this may be an attempt to leap into the adult world.
Whatever the case my question is ... What were her parents thinking? They were on set with her and obviously consenting to the photos. Last time I checked, she's a minor. This is a situation where the parents dropped the ball. They probably okayed it for the sake of her career.
